Dear Colleague,

Thank you for your interest in the 2020 Jesuit Leadership Seminar, the Seminar’s 17th year of forming Ignatian leaders who are "men and women for others" at their Jesuit colleges and universities.

This coming June, colleagues from across the network of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States will gather on the Water Tower Campus of Loyola University Chicago for four days of deep conversation about our common work, mission and future. This is a particularly exciting and monumental year for our committed network - we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Association of Jesuit Colleges & Universities.

Presidents, scholars, and senior administrators will serve as faculty for the Seminar, guiding us as we learn together, share best practices and challenges, and deepen the networks and connections crucial to supporting and advancing the vision of Jesuit Higher Education.

I invite you to visit the website often for updates on this year’s faculty, topics, and testimonials from past attendees. While participation is determined through nominations by member institutions, we welcome those interested in the Seminar to reach out.

With diverse participation and support from our network across the country, we will continue and enrich the Jesuit’s centuries-old educational tradition and look to the future together. I wish you well in the academic year and hope to meet you in Chicago.

    Warm regards,

    Jeanne Fielding Lord

    Director, The Jesuit Leadership Seminar

  • Our Mission

Supporting leaders who will guide the future of Jesuit institutions

With the support of the presidents of the 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States, the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities offers The Jesuit Leadership Seminar.

Its goal is to contribute to the formation of administrators in Jesuit colleges and universities who will, in the words of St. Ignatius Loyola, “Go out and set the world on fire!”

Participants in The Jesuit Leadership Seminar are introduced to the foundations of Jesuit education and actively engage in discussions with peers from around the country on how the Jesuit educational tradition may be applied in the everyday work of university decision making.

Drawing on the expertise of skilled practitioners from the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities consortium – including current and past Jesuit university presidents who serve among the faculty – the Seminar offers fresh perspective on key questions facing Ignatian leaders.
